Pamban Island 🚶

Good things that happen to us are the one which has long-lasting vibes ☘☘☘☘. Not clearly but the people I met, the roads I traversed are all stored somewhere, that memory will surely faint one day but till that, it’s always gonna make me smile.

Pamban is for the sure most marvelous island, talk about Dhanushkodi, Ramnathswamy Temple, Pamban Bridge, Or may it be the Rameswaram – birthplace of our Missile Man Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam.

The Real Struggle šŸ˜‚

I told you that I wasn’t having any booking for my further stay. I thought I will get it done once I will reach Rameswaram. But but but šŸ˜… I went door to door of hotels and मठ, but I was turned down just because I was wandering alone šŸ˜”. After visiting around 7-8 hotels, disappointed I was tired and hungry. For me, it’s always a task to choose a restaurant as well as what to eat their šŸ˜…while ordering food I noticed the guy waiting there was speaking Hindi. I told him that I am having a problem finding a place to stay.

As I say if things are in your favor you will always meet people who will go to any extent to help you out.

While he was taking permission from the restaurant owner, the owner told me why I was having a problem finding a stay near Temple. Rameswaram is one of the 12 jyotirlingas, many people to escape from the happenings of the world and their personal lives choose Rameswaram. After a long I got one, At the reception of the hotel, I was asked to make calls to my parents so they could confirm that I am in Rameswaram šŸ˜….

Walk On The BridgešŸš¶šŸ•¶

The next day I started with Ramnathaswamy’s blessing, in the morning it hardly took half an hour.

Bus to Mandapam will drop you near the Pamban bridge from where one can explore it on foot šŸ‘£. The wind above it was so powerful that I was being dragged by it, the weather was changing like it was going to rain. After walking to some distance, on one side it was Pamban Beach and on another side, it was the well known Pamban Bascule Railway Bridge. The views were astonishing from there and train to pass at its slowest speed. For now, I was done on the bridge as the weather was turning to it’s worse.

To walk back would have taken some time, so I decided to ask for a lift šŸ‘šŸ¼, and wooooohooo I got one. He asked me where I want to go, I said to that lighthouse which was visible from the bridge. He told me instead of it I should be going to Vivekananda Memorial House and he dropped me to the place from where I can board on the bus to reach the destination.

After waiting for another half an hour with no buses on that route I got another lift. He was going to the same memorial.

Road to this memorial took me from the midst of flooded coconut farms, those small narrow roads, its greenery was worth it.

This memorial offers you space to meditate and as I was first to reach there on that day, that very space was all mine 🧘. This Memorial belongs on the verge of the Gulf of Mannar, a Marine National Park

Now on time of my return, I was waiting for the bus, the same men who dropped me there, he asked me whether I want to come or notšŸ‘ He dropped me to the main road just to ensure that my further journey to be blissful.

The Living Memorial

Now it was turn for another to do a thing while on Pamban Island, to visit the memorial of Our beloved Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam situated on Rameshwaram road. I have been to few memorials here before, but would literally recommend this memorial out of them. The memorial is the gravesite and is a tribute to Dr. Kalam’s life, displaying replicas of rockets and missiles that the late ace scientist has worked on.

The Kalam house is merely at a distance of 600m from the railway station, which too holds the display of Dr. Kalam’s life and his contribution to our better tomorrow.

For the time being, a better bid to say goodbye is to stop at some point. For the day it was the sea with its waves hitting the shore and I holding myself so I can say goodbye. I as always waiving back to the sky, the sea, and obviously the weather, who were always on my side. To say the ball was always in my court šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ą„„
